Made in the decade between 1963 and 1973, these basses were sometimes sold as Futuramas in the UK. This isn’t to be confused with the Selmer imports from other countries that also had the Futurama name- this is a Swedish-made Hagstrom bass guitar. With a styling that is a cross between a P-bass and an SG, this is a striking guitar, and it was available in several colours- notably blue and red. The five switches and a volume control knob allow you to select or blend the pickups, as well as tweak the tone, or mute the output entirely. Some models had a boost switch, eliminating the need for a pedal. In the fifty-plus years since this model was available, these have become sought after collectors items.
