Mackie make mixers, speakers, studio monitors, DAW controllers, recording and other equipment. The company was founded by ex Boeing engineer Greg Mackie near Washington, first as TAPCO which made smaller mixers, then as Mackie which made pro audio mixers that were a huge success. It is now part of LOUD Technologies a pro audio and music products firm and the corporate parent for other leading brands such as Ampeg, Blackheart, Crate, EAW, and Martin Audio.
