Roxanne de Bastion - pic Terry Tyldesley

London/Berlin artist Roxanne de Bastion took to the stage on red spray-painted crutches, and still delivered a beautiful and often spine-tingling set with her band, with sharply-observed lyrics and a pop rock sensibility. Most haunting was the song ‘Wasteland’ set to imagery of the Berlin Wall. Unforgettable.

Sink Ya Teeth - pic Rachel King
Sink Ya Teeth at The Finsbury, London 11th August 2017. I had no idea what to expect but got drawn in by these two vibrant and enthusiastic women on stage and suddenly felt like I was back in the early 80s. Couldn’t quite put my finger on who the band reminded me of because they had their own individual exuberance and sound, but felt moments of Bow Wow Wow, Debbie Harry and at one point “Ring My Bell” by Anita Ward! It we lively, fresh, nostalgic and new. (Rachel King)
