Marv-ill Superlungs is known as the “Beatboxing MC” for his ability to beatbox and rap, and starred in the Unexpected Tweet / Beatboxing Bird ad campaign for First Direct, which went viral. He’s a great teacher too, and made this video showing how to get started - with a “p”, a “t” and a “k”! Marv-ill’s beatboxing trademarks are powerful bass, drums and melodies, and he has won the UK Team Beatbox Championships twice, as “Ill Bits” with Hobbit.
Marv-ill is heavily in demand, working with The Beatbox Collective, and supporting artists such as Tinie Tempah, Dizzee Rascal and Kele le Roc at major venues like the O2 and Wembley Stadium, as well as performing at Glastonbury.
He gave us this exclusive bite-sized video lesson that will take you through the first stages of beatboxing in different styles.
We filmed Marv-ill at the Curious Duke Gallery in London’s Whitecross Street, which hosted a great street art exhibition Insider Gallery put together by Global Street Art and Test Space.
