Whales in Cubicles Single Launch

Whales in Cubicles are making plenty of hot lists right now, from XFM to Artrocker, Daniel Radcliffe AKA Harry Potter, The Independent, the BBC’s 6 Music and The Sunday Times. They launched their new single Nowhere Flag this week at Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen. The jaw-dropping video - in which they blow up London - has already had a huge response. We’ve got some pics from the gig. Full video interviews and kit talk here.

A psyched up audience for the Whales in Cubicles single launch at a hot venue covered in Danger Demolition tape.

They debuted some of their new material, honed during their residential at Monnow Valley studios in Wales when they were recording their album. There’s more light and shade.

The build-up to the new single included an incredible version of We Never Win, a track that’s going to stay around for a very long time.

And then. A Whales’d up version of the Olympics favourite - the Chariots of Fire theme tune, exploded into the unforgettable Nowhere Flag.

The single was produced by Barny Barnicott (Arctic Monkeys, Temper Trap, Editors, Kasabian), and mastered by Nick Watson at Fluid Mastering.

The crowd demanded, and got, the song Golden Metal. It’s one of the songs they’ve been playing at gigs like Koko and XFM’s John Kennedy’s The Remedy night.

We Never Win? They won this time.
